Position Summary
Incumbents are responsible for inspecting parts of cylinders for stress and failure using multiple machines per regulatory and internal requirements. Preparing and securing parts or cylinders for hydrostatic testing per regulatory, customer and internal requirements.
Key Position Results
Accurately perform regulatory, customer and internal customer specific testing test preparation.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
:Perform internal testing, internal checks, and cosmetic inspections. Perform burst, volumetric and proof tests on all types and sizes of cylinders. Perform titrations and calibrations. Prepare and secure parts or cylinders for hydrostatic testing per regulatory, customer and internal requirements
:Prep Vessel for hydrostatic testing
:Complete all lab work and paperwork on all types and sizes of cylinders required
:Must learn to operate real time x:ray booth (Where applicable)
:Must be able to obtain samples using the band saw or plasma torch and prep bend test, macro sample and tensile specimens using the belt sander?
:Other duties as assigned
Critical Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
:Knowledge of physical steel properties preferred
:Basic knowledge of quality control and cylinder processes preferred
:Strong mathematical skills
:Strong problem solving skills
:Computer Skills
:Good communication skills
:Must be able to comprehend and retain internal and regulatory requirements.
:Must be able to handle physical, repetitive work and be able to stand on your feet for 8 hrs a day.
:Must be able to distinguish between part numbers and sizes
:Must understand and follow the quality policy and procedures
:X:ray interpretation skills (Where applicable)
:Must be able to use micrometers and calipers common tools
Education / Training Required
:6:12 months of previous material handling experience or equivalent knowledge
:Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic
:Required OSHA safety training and HazMat training
