The Float Teller is primarily responsible for providing the highest form of client service by consistently identifying opportunities to generate referrals while performing routine teller transactions such as receipt, disbursement, and recording of monies while maintaining service standards and transaction responsibilities. This person will be assigned to various banking centers within the regional market. PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Receives and processes checking and savings account deposits; provides customers with transaction records; provides customer with account balances; accepts loan payments, completed check orders and safe deposit payments; redeems U.S. Savings Bonds; validates items by entering through teller terminal. Cashes checks and processes checking and savings account withdrawals within prescribed cash limits. Greets customers and establishes a quality customer service environment; answers questions and suggests appropriate actions to meet the customer's banking needs. Identifies opportunities to refer bank products/services to new and existing customers by identifying problems, needs and opportunities; refers to the appropriate line of business. Processes fee income entries for money orders, cashiers checks and check cashing. Balances and reports teller transactions daily, in accordance with standard procedures. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES: Basic sales knowledge Good math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) Ability to count and make accurate change transactions Good communication skills; ability to gain information from individuals/customers by asking appropriate questions 3-6 months PC experience; 10 key skills Good customer service skills both in person and via telephone Must pass Teller Mastery Assessment with a minimum score of 80 before being assigned a teller drawer This level of knowledge is normally acquired through completion of high school and a minimum of six (6) months cash handling experience, or equivalent work experience.
