Under general autonomy, plans, leads and organizes Supply Chain Management Quality activities concerned with Manufacturing Quality. Responsible for the performance of quality teams in manufacturing plants. The products produced are diverse with varying degrees of automation/labor. Participates in the recruitment and staffing of Quality personnel. Monitors manufacturing plant quality performance according to agreed standards. Liaison with the manufacturing strategy teams to ensure product quality globally. Defines true metrics for measuring quality, productivity, scrap and defects at manufacturing plants. Defines consistent guidelines to assess plant performance. Establishes operational quality reviews with Supply Chain Management leadership to assess plant quality metrics. Interacts with supplier quality and global quality teams to ensure superior product quality. Coordinates the first article build with manufacturing and procurement, ensuring that fabricated items are traceable to documented standards. Liaison with Lean teams at factories to drive manufacturing process improvements. Must have experience in working with diverse products and vendors. Skills typically acquired through an undergraduate degree in Engineering, Applied Science or a related technical field to include a minimum of 12 years of experience with Supply Chain Quality, combined with a demonstrated track:record of accomplishments with broad based global teams in manufacturing and supply chain companies. Excellent oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and superior organizational abilities required. Must be able to work in a matrix, global environment. Experience in manufacturing and supply chain environments required. Working knowledge of operations and finance is essential. Experience with sourcing with a global vendor base is preferred. 25 travel is required in this position.
