The Senior GIS Business Analyst performs functions to support and develop functionality for GIS and associated Field Applications and their users. Focus areas for this role include ArcGIS, GPS and GIS Midstream Field applications. The GIS Senior Business Analyst will work directly with business and IT functions to ensure GIS applications meet business requirements and operate at sufficient performance metrics. This position will manage GIS support requests from business users and will take a significant role on projects that will expand and enhance MarkWest GIS capabilities. Project responsibilities will include documenting functional designs, vendor selection, writing business cases and test scripts and developing solutions according to business unit management objectives. This role will also help to facilitate IT infrastructure needs to support GIS related applications in the MarkWest Tulsa office.
Work Experience and Education Requirements:
:Bachelor degree in GIS, Computer Science, Information Technology or related technical experience.
:7+ years' experience delivering enterprise solutions as a GIS analyst preferably with exposure to the Oil and Gas industry.
:Significant experience working with ArcGIS ESRI Software 10.2 or higher.
:Strong Oracle/SQL Server or related RDBMS skills including transact:sql and SDE versioning with an Oracle database.
:Experience developing SQL Server Stored Procedures, Scalar Functions, Views, and SSRS templates.
:Strong GIS technical skill set including spatial analysis / geo:processes, Python programming, FME, aerial imagery interpretation and geodatabase design and creation.
:Experience with web and windows development (C, VB.Net, ADO.Net, Entity Framework 4 or greater, Python, HTML5, and JavaScript) is preferred.
:Geocortex administration, workflow development, and site creation experience preferred but not required.
:General IT infrastructure knowledge for purposes of assisting the MarkWest IT Infrastructure team with problem identification and troubleshooting.
:High level understanding of application bandwidth utilization, multi:tier application architecture, and application data traffic analysis.

:Works directly with business owners to document and formalize detailed system requirements. Internally develops or works with third party vendors to develop and deploy support and project solutions per business requirements.
:Functionally understands and works to have expert knowledge of applications of which the role is responsible.
:Participates in production support, issue resolution and change control management activities.
:Interprets existing IT controls environment and applies to existing and proposed processes to ensure compliance.
